Milk and bottled water were free and available in the fridge in the dinning area. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. We won't leave it as long next time! Host was very friendly and helpful.Just be aware that there is no onsite parking.

This was my first stay at The Croft.A good stay.Excellent breakfast. All in all, good value with excellent host.Minor negatives, timing of breakfast was too early for the leisure traveller, no elevator and low ceilings. You will bang your head. The later two comments can be put down to a 'ye old' property, so its tough to complain about. As a seasoned worldwide traveller (living currently in Hong Kong) I recommend any visitor to stay at the croft. You will not be disappointed and it is good value.

I very much enjoyed my 1 night stay this week, at The Croft. The room was very good, although strange that the taps in the hand basin where the opposite way round to that which I'm used to. Also the bedside lights were very temperamental. Nice touch to make fresh milk available to use in your room and with sachets of decaf coffee and a free bottle of water too.Very good breakfast with veggie options and again decaf coffee.Very friendly and helpful staff.Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Reviewer:Alison Barfoot | Sun 19th Nov 2017
We were welcomed warmly and checked in by Linda who showed us to our rooms (party of 5 with 3 rooms) which everyone was very happy with. The rooms were very warm which the elders in our group loved however it was easy to turn off the heating and open a window for the rest of us. We were treated to a superb breakfast the following morning. Our request to have a late checkout was met with a smile and was not a problem to the lovely B&B proprietors David &Linda.

The Croft was ideal, in terms of convenience, location, warm welcome and very good (and quickly prepared) breakfast. I would DEFINITELY stay here again. Very helpful staff. There are many eateries within a minute of two walk.I had dinner at Graze, just opposite which was great. It is worth knowing that parking is tricky on the street, but there are car parks nearby, apparently the long term car park is free - I just kept topping up in the short term one. Thank you to the Croft for my wonderful stay!

We brought our 4 month old and there was plenty of space for the travel cot. David the host was friendly and helpful at all times, the breakfast was great. The usual fry but with extra options of kippers or smoked haddock, both of which were delicious. Plus free-flowing coffee. We'd definitely stay again.

At the end of a tiring weekend it was good to know that we were returning to the Croft. The comfort and attention to detail is much appreciated and breakfast is second to none.Room 9 is really only suitable for one couple for one night.Thank you again.
Many thanks for your comments. it was a pleasure to see you both again. We note your comment about Room 9 (and the standard doubles generally). They are fairly compact and although the majority of guests are happy with these rooms we understand that they may not be suitable for some particularly for stays of over 1-2 nights. If potential guests contact us we do suggest that they consider the larger rooms for longer stays as they offer considerably more space. Thanks again and we hope that we will see you again soon.

my sister and I spent 3 days visiting National trust properties in Shropshire and the B&B in Bridgnorth was a good central location for the 5 properties we visited, plus Ironbridge. It was also in a central location in Bridgnorth and close to all facilities. We had two single rooms which catered to our touristic needs - and our hosts catered very well to our inner needs. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them.[i even learnt how to poach eggs so that they did not split up into long streaks of white in the pan]. NB. One of our concerns was that the B&B was right in the centre of Bridgnorth but you can use a car because there is a public car park only 50 yards away

Had a very nice experience whenwe stayed here along with my brother and his wife whilst attending a family celebration. I have to say that from the moment we arrived until our departure the following morning our host was warm friendly and accommodating. My wife wanted decaf coffee, not a problem. My brother drinks green tea, not a problem. The rooms aren't huge but perfectly acceptable with an ensuite bathroom with shower. There is even a safe in the wardrobe. The breakfast was first rate with plenty of choice and very satisfying. I would definitely recommend this establishment.

I would've liked a bit more of a lie in but breakfast was only served until 8.30 a.m, for one night this was fine. I would recommend The Croft and actually Bridgnorth itself.

My husband and I were booked in for 2 nights from 9th December. Our bedroom accommodation and en suite were very clean and the room had tv, tea &coffee facilities plus hot chocolate. UHT milk was available in the room, but fresh milk and bottled water were available from a fridge in the guest lounge, and residents could help themselves. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We both had 2 great night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely. Freshly cooked and hot with great local ingredients. Full of character and a very warm atmosphere. Loved it.

I thoroughly enjoyed my all-too-short stay at this delightful hotel. All the essentials (quiet room, comfy bed, good clean bathroom etc) were done well. The breakfast was excellent, using genuine fresh ingredients. What is more, the owners really went out of their way to help me after I had been badly let down by Booking.com.Strictly speaking it was me who went the extra mile (or 20!) to stay with them but they were fantastic in waiting up for my late arrival, serving breakfast early and arranging taxis.I cannot recommend them highly enough and look forward to going back when I have time for a longer and more relaxed stay.

I stayed at 'The Croft' for one evening and I must say that I was delighted with the quality of the accomodation. The room was comfortable and the location is perfect (in the heart of high town). Above all, however, I enjoyed my stay at The Croft because of the extremely friendly and helpful staff - who went above and beyond the call of duty (not least getting up especially early to make me and my partner a breakfast for the road). I will definitly stay again and recommend this delightful bed and breakfast to my friends and colleagues.

It wasn't possible to park in the street but there is a car park 2 minutes walk away which is free overnight. Ideally situated close to the town centre.

Reviewer:Lisa Carswell | Sat 17th Sep 2016
David was incredibly helpful giving us advance detailed notes on where to park the car as there is no immediate parking and we wanted to check in early to catch the last steam train for Bridgnorth station which is about 5 to 10 minutes walk. The breakfast is one of the best I've experienced in bed and breakfast. The room we had, possibly the same one as our last visit was rather small but we don't spend a vast amount of time there. The building is right in the centre of the historic town.

Location was excellent and room, although very restricted for twin beds was comfortable. The 3 flights of stairs with 7 weeks of luggage was a challenge, so we probably should have requested a lower floor! Staff were pleasant and breakfast very efficiently prepared and served

The whole of the "high town"of Bridgnoth is made up of ancient houses. The Croft has developed out of one of these to produce a very up-to-date and well-run B&B. Like any other really old house, "things go bump in the night"- but not to wake you out of a very comfortable bed. The breakfast is impressively well organised with good choices. The proprietor has a range of cunning plans to organise your car parking with a minimum of fuss. Everything is clean, tidy and well-maintained, in which respect it gives the classic "black and white"coaching hotels real competition. A very successful visit.

The Croft was very comfortable , and David the host was extremely helpful. The lounge, which I used in the evening was ideal. The breakfast was really good.

What a lovely little B&B - parking nearby - it's situated just a few metres from the vibrant town centre. The owner was really welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. The room was well equipped - the bathroom was quite new and both were spotless. We have never been to Bridgnorth before but will comeBack - it is a lovely place - some traditional shops - The Pie &Mash Shop - an Ice Cream Parlour - and a busy town centre market on a Saturday.
Reviewer:Julie Storey | Mon 16th May 2016
we enjoyed our stay and congratulate the owners on a warm welcome and their excellent attention to detail to make our stay comfortable. The only reason we do not give 5 star rating is that we found the bedroom and bathroom a little on the 'bijou' side!
Many thanks for your comments which are much appreciated. Your comment about the room size is noted, we agree that the standard rooms are not large but there is always the option of going for the larger rooms which we would normally recommend for longer stays as they are much more spacious. Thanks again and we hope that we will see you again sometime.

I had occasion to stay at The Croft recently as I was attending a trade show in Telford, and I have to say it was fabulous! The room although "compact and bijou"was spotlessly clean and perfectly adequate for my needs. The lady I met when I arrived advised of a suitable place to eat which was again superb. The breakfast was excellent and "mine host"David tended very well indeed. I would certainly use The Croft again if I need to stay over in the area.

The owners are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is highly recommended with great sausages and bacon and smoked fish. I had assumed I'd paid when I booked online, or that payment would automatically be taken from my credit card once we'd booked in.I nearly left without paying and luckily saw the owner before we left.Perhaps payment information could be explained on arrival. I would recommend both Bridgnorth and this charming small hotel.

has to be my favourite b&b.Great location, very attentive hosts, excellent facilities.Only criticism is that I always wake up with a headache when I stay there-but , maybe that's something to do with the strength of the beer sold in Bridgo's fine pubs.

The Croft is very clean and comfortable, lovely breakfasts with lovely people serving it. Very close to town centre, which was a good choice after our 20 mile walk. Highly recommended.

I stayed a couple of nights. The hotel had a lovely charm. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with locally sourced bacon and sausage. Although there was no parking, there was a reasonably priced car park one minute from the hotel which was convenient. I would definitely recommend it and the area it's is is breathtakingly beautiful.

Stayed as part of a group of eight visiting golfers. Lovely quirky old establishment with lashings of character. Excellent welcoming and accommodating hosts. Good choice of cereal, fruit salads and any combination of breakfast from full, to items on toast to kippers, all good quality. Consensus of our group was that all would like to and probably will stay again. Scrupulously clean comfortable rooms. Only slight criticism is that the showers are a little small, but that comes as being part of an old building , not a problem for me though. Location, right in the centre of Bridgenorth and easy parking close by in the Listley Street car park, less than a minute away. Recommended.
Thank you for your comments, they are much appreciated. Just to pick up on your slight criticism, we accept that a couple of the showers are on the small size but generally the showers are fairly roomy. You did have the smallest shower yourself whcih is why we call that particular room the small room, purely because of the shower itself which is slightly lower than normal. Thanks again, we enjoyed having your party staying with us.

We were delighted with our stay at The Croft. It is a charming period hotel. We were grandparents staying along with daughter and family.David was very helpful in accommodating us all and we found the hotel to be very relaxing and well equipped. Rooms were spacious and fresh and en suites good. Beds were really comfy with great quality bedding. Breakfasts were tasty and set us up for the day.

Very comfortable, and roomy room! No. 12 in the roof, has a third single which we didn't need of course, but I had asked for a room with a bath not just a shower and this was the one available.Leaving on Sunday, breakfast ends at 09.30, would have been nice not to have rushed after our late night perhaps extending to 10.00?Also 10.30 check out on a Sunday seemed a bit early though I appreciate rooms have to be prepared for the next guests.

We arrived to a warm friendly welcome from David, our room was clean, cosy and neatly decorated.we had everything we needed including a full length mirror and cooling fan. Breakfast was plentiful with lots to choose from including fresh Northumberland kippers. Location is perfect for exploring bridgnorth and surrounding areas, lots to do within walking distance. It was our first visit but we will definitely be back.

Stayed as a group of two couples. Very clean and tidy. Room looked like it had been decorated over the winter as no signs of any marks and chips on paintwork. Room was a little on the small side but adequate for 2 nights. A very cosy lounge is provided to spend spare time in. Super breakfast with a good choice of fare. Good position in centre of town with cheap car park 1 minute walk away. Thoroughly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at The Croft. The proprietors were so friendly and welcoming and made everything look effortless (the mark of a true professional). The food was faultless and the rooms were warm, clean and comfortable. The hotel is steeped in history and is conveniently situated in the heart of beautiful Bridgnorth. The only niggle was some noise from Bank Holiday revellers in the street in the evening, as this is a listed building and has single glazed windows. If this would bother you then perhaps ask for a room at the back of the building? There is a public car park 40 yards away which is extremely cheap. All in all, a fantastic stay, our family loved it and we would be happy to book again.

WE had a lovely stay.WE received a warm welcome and the owners were friendly throughout. The breakfast was fantastic and the hotel was warm and clean. We had a lovely ensuite bathroom with both bath and shower.Only downside was having to get up early for breakfast and to go and put money into the car park machine at 8 am.
Thanks for your comments, they are much appreciated. Regarding the car park, you must have forgotten that I said that you could prepay anytime from 6 pm the night before to save you getting out of bed too early. I appreciate that breakfast midweek is on the early side because we deal mainly with business people Mondays to Fridays but with a bit of encouragement we can be persuaded to extend these times if need be. Thanks again and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay.

A very friendly welcome from David on arrival and shown to a spotlessly clean room (room 1).The room was lovely and warm for the entire time that we were there, and we were happy to have "proper"PG teabags in the room and not Earl Grey or the like. The Galaxy hot chocolate was delicious. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was both powerful and hot. The dining room was light and airy and the choice of breakfast and the standard of the cooking was excellent. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly. The only negative was that sound transmits from the adjacent rooms, and the floorboards and bed creak a bit, not ideal for a "romantic stay", but otherwise I would highly recommend The Croft.

Stayed on a Saturday night with my wife and children 5 &7. We had the one larger family room (I believe there is another). Plenty of bed space (you could sleep 5 adults!) Clean and pleasant. Rooms are not large, but this is a very old building and you wouldn't be in Bridgnorth just to sit in a hotel room. Breakfast was excellent and the management are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel would pose a challenge if you can't climb steps unless you get one of the few ground floor rooms, but this is to be expected in a building of this age. Great value. Have been here twice with the family and it will be our first choice when we come to Bridgnorth again.

Having stayed for one night back in May I re-visited on a 3 day trip to a trade show in Telford, an easy 11 mile drive away.I booked into a larger, en suite room which was very comfortable, with all mod cons. The breakfasts were superb, especially the "proper"kipper i.e. not "plastic"fillets often served. It was good food served hot, speedily and good portions.Parking, or the lack of it outside the hotel, was a very minor inconvenience on a very rainy morning, but otherwise the central location meant all the varied restaurant options were within close walking distance.I'll be back if in the area.

Enjoyed our 1 night stay. Friendly helpful host, nice room and good breakfast. Good location in heart of the old town, but no parking on site. Breakfast was only served until 0830 'due to demand from business customers'. Not being there on business we found this too early.
Thank you for your comments. We note your point about midweek breakfasts, but, if asked, we can be amenable to relaxing the rules occasionally. We do normally cater mainly for business customers during the week but we do not want to upset our tourist trade so there can be some flexibility if required. You are correct about no onsite parking but there is free overnight and short stay parking about 30 seconds walk away in a secure car park. Thanks for the rest of your comments, we hope that will see you again sometime in the future

As a group we visit the delightful town of Bridgnorth every summer. We have stayed in numerous hotels and b and b's in the town and having "discovered"the Croft would not consider staying elsewhere.Booking is simple and the welcome from David and Linda is warm and courteous. The rooms are well furnished and comfortable and the bathroom large and spotless. Our hosts seem to add something each year to make the stay more enjoyable....for example bottled water and fresh milk was freely available for us to help ourselves to. A nice and welcome touch.Breakfast is first class with virtually anything you might want or expect. A delicious cooked breakfast with a choice of the full English or kippers and haddock together with fresh fruit, juices, cereals, yogurts and much more. The other big plus is the situation of the Croft which is in a quiet street off the main route through the High town and conveniently placed for visiting the Severn Valley Railway. As we left today we booked for next year....that says it all really. Roll on 2015 !

I have just experienced a very pleasurable stay at The Croft. I was with a group of friends who have known each other for over 40 years and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Everybody was so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. One of us had to be gluten free, and he was catered for.it is in a fabulous location just off the High St in High Town, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. I would make this my Inn of choice in Bridgnorth.

I only wish I'd allowed for more than one night at The Croft. My stay was excellent - Dave couldn't have been more helpful (he even carried my ultra-heavy bag up to my room). The food was scrumptious, the room was excellent, with all the amenities I needed. And I had no trouble getting free parking overnight right outside the front door. Thank you Dave - if the chance ever arises again, I would be most happy to stay at The Croft.

Reviewer:Mr. Doug O\'malley | Tue 17th Sep 2013
Perfect location, friendly staff but room VERY small facing the street which was rather noisy because of traffic and people passing by. Also no parking.
We accept that the standard rooms are fairly small and are best for short stays. If you want more space, the superior rooms are substantially larger. Regarding car parking, very few B & B's in the centre of Bridgnorth have their own car parks as the town centre is very old. However, there is a public car park within 45 seconds walk of the premises, this is free overnight and reasonably priced for up to 3 hours during the day. We accept that there can be noise because of people walking by at the front of the building but regarding traffic, we do not feel that there is a large amount of this, in fact, people generally walk up the middle of the street rather than using the pavements and only move on to the pavements if a car does approach.

What a find! Nestled just metres from the High Street, the Croft is a gem of a hotel. Friendly hosts, very clean and tidy, bedrooms that offer tv, dvd, tea and coffee making facilities and most with en suites.Delcious breakfasts on offer and obliging staff, what more could you ask for, absolutely nothing in our case. And what's more, great value for money, highly recommended establishment, will definitely stay again when visiting Shropshire.

I booked The Croft last minute for some French relatives and they were very impressed! When booking for others you always wonder exactly what you will find but everything was perfect. The welcome, the standard of cleanliness, decor and comfort in the family room was first class. As the "children"were aged 13, it was good that all the beds are full sized, with a parents' queen size, another double and a single. There was even "hot chocolate"provided in the room, which is the girls' favourite. They loved the traditional ambiance of the building, and really appreciated the English Breakfast. They would recommend it to others. Well done The Croft!

Our second year at the Croft, and, hopefully, we shall return next year. The Croft is a first class bed and breakfast right in the heart of the High Town. Parking arrangements are good and all the amenities of the town are within a stroll. Our welcome, as before, was warm, and our room was really nice with the bathroom decorated in a seaside theme with lots of blue......really relaxing. The residents lounge is very nice although we did not spend much time in it.Breakfast was first class with a range of items cooked to order and an ample array of fruit, cereal, yogurt and jams etc.In short the Croft offers everything a good B and B should. A really enjoyable stay.Looking forward to 2014 !

I didn't research The Croft before booking and glad I didn't. After the shock of no car park and one or two other things what was presented was spot on. A well appointed establishment with breakfast time an absolute delight. Will definitely go again and leave the car at home.
Thank you for your comments and it was a pleasure to meet you. Regarding the car parking it is true that we do not have our own car park (along with most establishments in Bridgnorth). However, there is a car park about 30 seconds walk away which is free from 6pm until 8 am and quite cheap for short stay parking (£0.80 to £2.20 for 1-3 hours). There is a free car park about 7 minutes walk away or metered parking about 4 minutes walk away (£3 per day). Also, there is street parking outside the Croft (subject to availability which is free from 6pm until 8am and you can also park for free for 40 minutes during the day.
